James Mellonreceived his Doctorate of Consciousness Studies from the Emerson Theological Institute in Northern California and is an ordained minister of Centers For Spiritual Living, a teaching that sees the Good/God in everyone and honors all walks of life that support and foster Love. He lives in Los Angeles, where he is the Founding Pastor of the Global Truth Center, a non-denominational Center whose vision statement is “Love Only - Forgive Everything - Remember Who You Are!”
Dr. James’ focus for the past twenty years has been to explore the intersection between Spirituality and the Arts. “Enlightenment Through Entertainment” is his mission statement and Dr. James’ vision and ministry is constantly expanding and exploring new ways to teach principle through music, dance, art and drama.
It is no surprise that prior to becoming a minister, Dr. James had a successful career in the entertainment industry which included Broadway, television, music and film. He played Riff in the Jerome Robbins revival of “West Side Story” and toured the country as Jesus in “Jesus Christ Superstar” before turning his attention to directing and writing. He has written for television and film and has had three original musicals published for which he has written the book, music and lyrics. His first book, “Mental Muscle, 16-Weeks of Spiritual Boot Camp,” has gone through three printings and is being used by many Centers and for workshops around the world. Dr. James’ prosperity program, “Core Prosperity Relief,” (CPR) has attracted thousands of participants for each of the past sixteen 30-day workshops and will soon be published as a workbook. Adding to his programs, Dr. James facilitated his first 30-day workshop focused on physical health and well-being, “Building Our Dynamic Selves” (BODS). As one of the participants wrote: “BODS is an amazing daily dose of self care!”
Dr. James is married to Broadway producer/actor Kevin Bailey. They have been together for over twenty-nine years and have two children: seventeen-year-old twins, William and Nora, both practicing Global Citizens and very helpful in keeping things “real.”
